Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
ScanSign does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers — because ScanSign doesn't have servers. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. Every document you scan, every signature you draw, and every setting you choose stays on your device, in storage that only ScanSign and iOS can access.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect:
Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier
Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostic data
Your scanned documents, signatures, or any content you create in the app
Your location
Advertising identifiers
ScanSign contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs) of any kind.
Permissions ScanSign Requests, and Why
Permission Why ScanSign asks Where the data goes
Camera To scan documents Nowhere — the camera feed is used to capture a page and processed on your device only
Photo Library (read) To let you import existing photos of documents Nowhere — imported images are copied into ScanSign's local storage
Photo Library (add) To let you save an exported PDF's pages back to your library, if you choose to Nowhere — this only writes to your own device
Face ID / Touch ID To let you optionally lock the app or individual documents Nowhere — biometric authentication is handled entirely by iOS; ScanSign never receives or stores biometric data
Where Your Data Lives
Your scans, signatures, and documents are stored locally on your device, encrypted at rest by iOS's own Data Protection, in a location only ScanSign can access. Signature artwork is additionally encrypted with a key held in your device's Keychain. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party, at any time, under any circumstance.
3. Third-Party Services
ScanSign does not integrate with any third-party service — no analytics providers, no advertising networks, no crash reporters, no cloud storage providers. The app makes no network requests.
3. Children's Privacy
ScanSign does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone. The app is not directed at children specifically, but nothing about its data practices differs by age.
4. Children's Privacy
If a future version of ScanSign adds an optional feature that does involve data leaving your device — for example, an optional iCloud sync — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the change will be described here clearly rather than folded into unrelated wording.
5. Contact Us
